We are an EVANGELICAL church which means that we hold firmly to the historic teachings of the Christian faith, particularly the complete reliability and authority of the Bible. A full Statement of Faith is available here.
We are an INDEPENDENT church which means that we are not part of a larger denomination. However, we work wholeheartedly with other evangelical churches of many kinds. We are also members of the Fellowship of Independent Evangelical Churches FIEC which is a body which helps support and foster fellowship between evangelical congregations.
We are a TEACHING church which means that we believe our most important task is to learn from, and obey, the Bible. Because of this, preaching is at the centre of our worship services, and the Bible is taught wherever possible.
We are a COMMUNITY church which means that we believe we ought to be doing good in our local area. We believe that this is both an expression of our Christian faith and a means through which Christian faith can be shared and God's love shown in action.
We are a MISSION MINDED church which means that we believe the great task of the church is to make Jesus known. Therefore we have an active programme of local evangelism as well as an enthusiastic commitment to world mission.
We are a CONTEMPORARY church which means that we try and do everything in ways which communicate to the present culture. Because of this we use a modern version of the Bible in our services (the NIV) and make use of modern music styles as well as traditional hymns in our worship.
