Poland Trip April 11th-15th 2008
- A team of 9 will take part in our annual Poland trip to Lublin. They will involved in a Youth Conference, Sunday Services and other opportunities for fellowship with the Lublin Church
SOME RECENT EVENTS:
Easter Meal
- Wednesday 19th March at 7:!5pm we held our first Easter
meal at the church. This was an excellent event with about 80 people in attendance, many of whom were guests of church members. Bill Dyer from Pontefract spoke clearly and passionately about the relevance of Easter to the issues which face our society today.
Quiz night Saturday March 1st 2008
- 16 teams made up of church members and invited friends enjoyed a great evening of questions for all ages, tastes and intellects! There was a short evangelistic talk at the conclusion of the evening.
Midlands Gospel Partnership Youth Event 23rd Feb 2008
- About 80 young people from several churches attended this 'youthsurge' event, hosted at Monyhull Church. This had formerly been a joint East / West Midlands event, but this year 2 separate events were held in order to cope with growing numbers.
Fiona Castle / Brian Edwards Feb 2008
- These 2 excellent evangelistic speakers came to consecutive coffee evenings. Fiona Castle spoke warmly about her life and faith, and Brian Edwards dealt equally engagingly with the subject of human suffering focusing on both biblical material and personal esxperience.
Christmas Carols on the Green
- On the Sunday before Christmas around 200 people braved the cold weather for an hour of carols and readings on the Green outside church. We are really grateful for all those from the local community who joined us to celebrate the good news of Christmas.
Cheltenham Bible Festival August 9th-12th 2007
- About 40 members of the church attended all or part of this excellent new Bible event. Great ministry, great music and great fun!
Holiday Bible Club August 13th-17th 2007
- We used the Scripture Union 'Pyramid Rock' programme for this event for 5-11 yr olds. About 20 children attended each day.
FUN DAY!!! Sat July 14th 2007
- This was our first ever community event, and it was a great success. Many of the local people came and enjoyed the day, and many new contacts were made. Also, in a week of almost untemitting rain we had the one beautifully dry day! Pictures
Church Weekend Away June 22nd-24th 2007
- This was at Cloverley Hall in Shropshire, with the largest number (130) that we have ever taken away. John Woollley from Cardiff was the speaker, bringing a great challenge from the book of Jonah.
Womens Day Away Saturday 26th May 2007
- This was a day conference for women in Birmingham, held at Lees Chapel in Lapworth. The key speaker was Lizzie Smallwood.
'Marriage, Singleness and Divorce' Saturday April 21st 2007
- John Stevens and Hugh Thomson from City Evangelical Church conducted excellent seminars examing these vital subjects from a Christian point of view.
Commissioning Service for Diane Gavey March 31st 2007
- This was a joint service between Monyhull and Pontefract churches to commission Diane for overseas service with UFM Worldwide
